With an available budget of € 168 million, this funding program is part of the National Action Plan for Energy Efficiency 2014-2020 and will allow Spain to meet saving targets included in the Directive 2012/27/EU.
One of the most outstanding lines is the funding program for “Industrial small, medium and large-sized enterprises”, aimed to the improvement of energy efficiency and the implementation of energy management systems in small and medium enterprises (SMEs) as well as in large-sized companies, with an available budget of € 49 million.
The main objective of this funding program is to give support to the implementation of energy efficiency actions that are detected by the companies themselves or that were detected during energy audits, in order to reduce energy consumption in industrial processes. In addition, this program is intended to reinforce the large-sized companies’ obligation to make an energy audit by 5 December 2015 and at least every four years from the date of the previous energy audit, according to Article 8 of the Directive 2015/27/EU. The same article states that enterprises that are implementing an energy or environmental management system - certified by an independent body according to the relevant European or International Standards - shall be exempted from these requirements, provided that Member States ensure that the management system concerned includes an energy audit according the criteria indicated in Annex VI of the mentioned Directive.
The grants are limited to a maximum reimbursement rate of 30% of eligible costs and a maximum eligible investment of € 4.000.000 per proposal. Actions included in this funding program must be included in the following groups:
The deadline for submission is 5 May 2016.
